As posted by its founder, Jim Robinson. They've done another purge of evolutionists there, apparently. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2405876/postsThe Freepers are going nuts.

Free Republic is a fringe right-wing Christian fundamentalist site... or so they say... and they might even be right.
We don't go for any of that godless left-wing big government socialist malarkey. And we do put our faith and trust in God, not government. We are pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Family, pro-Country and pro-Liberty.
We do not believe that government or science knows what's best for us or our children. We will make our own decisions thank you very much.
Every once in a while some group of posters get together and try to bend Free Republic to their will. Now, we tend to be pretty free-wheeling around here and will take a lot of guff and a lot of obnoxious insults from a lot of people, but eventually a breaking point is reached.
For example, when a group of RINO lovers recently banded together to try to force FR to accept an abortionist/gay rights RINO as our presidential candidate, they soon found themselves on the outs.
And a few years ago a group of evolutionists tried to force FR over to their way of thinking and they soon found themselves on the outs.
FR is a pro-God, pro-Creator, pro-Life, pro-Liberty site.
And now we have yet another group of Darwinists trying to have their Darwinist way with us. Well, as I've said before what doesn't kill us will only make us stronger.
Darwin Central has again declared war on FR. They have ping lists and email lists and will try to pull away as many FReepers as they possibly can. So be it. Those who would rather go with Darwin, please go. I sure as hell won't try to stop you.
FR will remain a pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Liberty, pro-Creator conservative site.
We wholeheartedly believe that our unalienable rights are a gift from God our Creator not from man or government. And no man, no government will ever deprive us of same.
Keep your powder dry.

8. What the hell is an 'evolutionist'? |
|
Are there also 'gravitationalist'? That term always sounded odd to me, since people who teach or research Evolutionary Science are typically biologists or in some related field. I always figured it was the Creationists version of 'Democrat Party', to paint supporters as believers in an ideology rather than being pro science.

10. Oh I get it, Ben Steins HBO special about ID is on HBO this month. |
|
The one where good old conservative Stein rants about the ID scientists getting fired because they questioned Darwin while ignoring the fact that there is no proof what so ever of ID. The scientists that were fired tried making a case that because Darwinism couldn't explain something in nature that was proof of ID. I couldn't handle more then 5 minutes of the show after the credits.

22. They are 'cult' that comes out of christianity |
|
They aren't Christians. They are a suicide cult that worships money. God is used only to justify seeking money and power, and attacking their 'enemies'. The rapture they wish for doesn't exist in the bible. What they call the rapture is a biblical event involving Jews, not Christians.
When I confronted my aunt on this fact she tried to claim that they were the, 'lost tribe of Israel.' When spewing her religious crap she constantly quips, 'We're not a cult.'
I work with a republican baptist minister. When discussing religion with him, he goes back and forth between Christianity and GOP talking points seamlessly. In his mind they are one in the same.
I would love for someone, anyone, on a talk-show to confront them as an apocalyptic suicide cult. Particularly when they are attacking Islam as dangerous.

I went into the site and read through 4 pages of comments. Among the "amens" and "right ons!" there were a couple of people that made sense.
Capt.Ron seems displeased, as he ponders the possibility of evolution.
Someone else is baffled that, as a Jew, he is no longer welcomed.
Yet.............
One timidly asks "what are we supposed to believe about climate change?" (at least he gets it that he is not allowed to form his own opinions anymore).

RW Fundies. Just compare how slow the their 3rd quarter fund drive was compared to the 4th quarter.
The 4th quarter drive coincided with the HCR bill and the donations came in lightning speed. The last drive ended in about three weeks.

|
It's not like they have anything new to say and it's not like I can't predict what they are going to say on a daily basis. I got PM'ed a link the other day to a conservative site that had one of my posts on it. The poster had to spend an hour writing their response, like they thought I would actually go there and read it. In this one instance I did,(The post was at the top of the front page here with nearly 400 recs) and considering the post was trashing the destruction of a useful health care bill it was something they should have been able to get behind. Instead they spent whatever time they did trashing me and DU personally instead of realizing that we were basically on the same page.
This is why I can't stand to deal with Republicans, they'll argue with you even when they agree with you. Just because you aren't one of them.
