Tiger Woods and the Ambien bombshell--Part 1
When you are two-timing your wife and the number of women involved hits double digits, you're on your own, Jack. Unfortunately salacious material is like catnip for the media and one important detail got overlooked in the frenzy. Consequently, there is a bombshell the media has missed.

When I say "bombshell", I'm not talking about bimbos. I'm talking about billions. I'm not interested in stories about people I will never meet, but I am interested in stories that could affect people near and dear to me. So should you.

3. Ambien is a wicked drug that almost got me hooked.
I took it a few times--my wife was prescribed--- and man it worked good. I slept like a baby the whole night through.

But--- I knew that if I continued, I'd be hooked and I wasn't about to let that happen.

So--- I stopped immediately.

Thing is---it wasn't easy. I had several restless nights after because my mind kept asking for the Ambien. It's really the first time I felt any kind of addiction in my life---and I wasn't even addicted.

10. Try melatonin.
Trader Joes has it.
It is a natural substance.
It can be used only when you need it.

I find that eating right and walking, even a short distance, help.
But if I find that I have not done that, then melatonin works.

Something else that works as well, is a high carb snack.

5. Aha! When they ruled out alcohol so quickly, I wondered if he was on Ambien.
Never heard that it had been confirmed.

6. Once again...big pharma creates another deadly product...
There are countless stories about Ambien and Ambien CR causing people to do all sorts of
things--while they are sleeping. i just assume that big pharma--through their campaign donations
and their bribing of our politicians--do not have our best interests at heart. I would never take
any of these unnecessary designer drugs--especially when the side effects are so horrendous and
well documented.

As the article mentions--people have walked off balconies, drove, set their houses on fire. Many people
also report serious weight gain, only to figure out that they were getting up in the middle of the night
and gorging themselves.

The stories are surfacing now. Big pharma tries to suppress this stuff, but soon these outrageous and
unacceptable side effects will be widely known. Then, the lawsuits begin. Then, the maker of this
drug, Sanofi-Aventis, will settle for billions. Now, is the period where they make truckloads of money
off of a drug that they know is harming people and even killing them.

Look at this description of how highly addictive this drug is (gee, that's not by design is it?)
source: http://www.sweetdreamsadvice.com/side-effects.html

"All the main sleep medications may cause you to forget what has happened after taking the medicine. Under normal circumstances, this is not a problem because almost all users fall asleep after taking Ambien. But if you wake up while the drug is still active in your body, you may "sleep walk" and not remember what you did. If your family warn you that this is happening, you should consult a doctor.

Similarly, all sleep medicines can produce dependence. If you take Ambien regularly over a period of weeks and months, or you take a higher than recommended dosage, you may find yourself addicted. If this happens, you will find it difficult to stop taking the drug. Should you decide to stop suddenly, you are likely to experience withdrawal symptoms which will "push" you to continue taking Ambien. This is most likely to happen if you have previously been dependent on alcohol or other recreational drugs. It is most important that you tell your doctor if you have a history of dependence because you may find yourself "hooked" after just a few weeks.

If you stop taking Ambien before you are completely dependent, the withdrawal symptoms are likely to be merely unpleasant. Once you are addicted, however, it is possible that you may experience cramp in your muscles, vomiting, sweating, shakiness and, in very rare cases, you may suffer seizures."

7. We had a thread about these drug ads
a few months ago. I can't believe anyone who watches those ads would take these drugs but then I no longer understand human beings.

8. Insomnia plagues a lot of folks, but those in high-pressure showbiz and competitive sports
are hit with it in high percentages. It goes along with throwing up before every game/concert etc.

9. Ambien is the Republicon drug of choice
Edited on Sat Dec-12-09 11:20 AM by SpiralHawk
One is given to understand.

EVERYBODY (Republicons) HERE USES AMBIEN

Al-Rashed: "So do you use sleeping tablets to organize yourself?"

Colin Powell: "Yes. Well, I wouldn't call them that. They're a wonderful medication -- not medication. How would you call it? They're called Ambien, which is very good. You don't use Ambien? Everybody here uses Ambien."
