who gave up the profession after a prosecutor was gunned down by one of his clients. He said he figured it wasn't a large stretch to imagine that a client who would murder a prosecutor would also take down a defense attorney. Dangerous business!
(and on edit: he imparted these words of wisdom to my class "If I've taught you nothing else, I hope you have all learned to never talk to the police!")

the mcnamee's, tim and tom. tim was the lawyer, tom is now the editorial page editor at the chicago sun times.
i worked with one of their sisters(it was a large family) at santa's village.

IIRC, the killer laid in waiting across the street while drinking a six-pack.
I remember it took a long time to solve the case. I remember they napped the guy at O'Hare.
