the president chose a bad man to run his white house. the fact you fling the president's right hand man's name like it is an epithet makes it pretty clear were you stand. or where whomever 'deployed' you stands

I've never liked that little weaselly piece of shit, especially after the way he and the other DLC goons attacked Howard Dean - the only LEADER this party has had in decades - because of his success at restoring the Democratic party.

Now what the fuck does any of that have to do with Barack Obama?

Nothin'.

...I believed life begins at conception, women have no rights over their own body, and until I wanted a bigger soapbox to stand on and get attention from out-of-state contributors and their money, I changed my stance and ran for president in 2004.

Dennis promised the constituents of his district that he wouldn't run for president in 2008 if re-elected to congress, as they needed a full-time representative, not a full-time presidential candidate.

He lied to them and ran anyway.

Edited on Sat Dec-12-09 01:25 PM by lib2DaBone
I wold love to see some real Dems elected... but the second wave of home for closures is about to hit and the commercial real estate default is about to hit... and when that one pops... it will be the "shot heard 'round the world".

There is NO WAY...( by any and all theories).. no matter which school of economics you subscribe to, that we can have a recovery with the poison derivatives that are still in the system.

We should have let the banks fail and let the bad germs get coughed out of the system... even if Obama had to nationalize the banks. But he didn't.. and he won't.... because Goldman Sacs owns the Whitehouse.

Plus, we have the added expense and baggage of a war in AfPakistan that we can't afford.. we have to get on our knees and beg China to finance the whole mess.

There IS a light at the end of the tunnel.... and it is a train... get ready to jump my friends...

Obama should be in an Emergency Job Mode (EJM)... killing NAFTA, bringing troops home, saving money any way he can and handing out life jackets to workers. Instead... he is busy re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

47. HAH.
The idea that the Democratic nominee in 2012 will be anyone BUT the present incumbent of the office is absurd, and so is the suggestion that a largely anonymous first-term representative from Florida who's done nothing of note except make a few comments on the healthcare reform debacle is a credible top-of-the-ticket choice...as is the idea that Dennis Kucinich has any chance at all of having his name on a national ticket.

I'm a big Russ fan and would've supported him enthusiastically in 2008. But he decided not to run. I'm not sure why.

As for Grayson, he says all the right things and I like his background as an attorney specializing in whistleblower cases. But he's only been on my radar for a relatively short period of time (less than six months), so it's difficult to say how he'll fare (with me at least) over the long haul.

68. Absolutely would vote for that ticket in a heart beat.
Only downside to it is that it would take Russ Feingold out of the Senate, and as we just saw in Massachusetts, just because a seat is held for a long time by a REAL Democrat, doesn't mean a REAL Democrat will be the eventual replacement.

72. But as we've also seen having 60 seats in the Senate means bupkis
If half of your side are sell outs. I want a President who will use the "bully pulpit" on what's right. "Send me this bill or it's vetoed and you can hope for a two-thirds win". Compromise has gotten us nowhere fast and worse.

We need to keep the REAL Democrats we have in the Senate, and get more of them in there. Now imagine President Dean with Senate Majority Leader Feingold. And Speaker of the House Alan Grayson.

Then we could really get the people's business done.

74. the dem nominee will be Obama- unless he decides not to run
In that case, that's not a bad sounding ticket- though it's a very unlikely one.

76. Dean supports the current health care bill
Supported the war in Afghanistan and still does, afaik; supports going after terrorists and believes they are real; supports an incremental withdrawal from Iraq, supports an incremental closure of Gitmo. Just wtf do you think Dean would have done so differently?

patriot act and voted against it. He will always be the best pick for the President....

88. I would like to see...
A Weiner/Potter HC Bill. Even though Potter is not a politician I have a feeling those 2 would write an excellent HC Bill. Anthony Weiner and Wendell Potter.

89. Give it a rest...we just had an election...
am not an Obama backer, but try and be fair to the guy.

Kucinich would not be an asset to any candidate. His record of badly run campaigns plus his failure to get any of his 'ideas' into a passed bill is atrocious.

I like progressives that actually work to get things done and don't just bloviate to hear themselves speak.

109. I don't believe either man will appear on the Democratic Ticket in 2012
or at any other time.

Were either or both to run as third party candidates, they would generate at most 4-6% of the electorate were things to more dramatically collapse but if thing were to improve even slightly or more, that percentage would fall to 2-4%, tops.

If Barack Obama wants renomination in 2012 I don't see anyone blocking his path.
