Dems Say They'll Pursue Progressive Health Care Reforms AFTER Legislation Passes
Edited on Sat Dec-12-09 01:01 PM by Bluebear

Senate Democrats are already lowering expectations for the final health care bill, insisting that there will be more efforts at reform to come.

In a conference call with reporters on Friday, Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) and Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.) both stressed that they will continue to try to tinker with changes to the health care insurance and delivery system and the pharmaceutical industry, even after legislation passes.

2. Very nice thought, HOWEVER if GOP get significant number of
seats in 2010--that promise will not be easy to keep.

It best to have the best bill pass now and have American
People happy before 2010.

3. Apparently our expectations are STILL too high.
Meaning, there's something else they have yet to give away in exchange for bribe money.

6. Yep. That worked so well with TARP, too.
Whitehouse, eh?
Whitehouse, who was SO vocal about pursuing Rove's Contempt of Congress behavior, but has done nothing about it.
Whitehouse, who was SO vocal about Gonzales, but did nothing.

All I care about is ACTIONS...Timely actions. We all know "after" they give the Health Care Industry what
it has bought and paid for, nothing will happen to change that.

But we also know our protests will change nothing. We protested 100 to 1 against TARP, they did it anyhow and had so many WORDS to justify why we were ignored.

Doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results, how's that working for us?

27. If you don't use your leverage, you lose it. I say scrap the bill and start with single payer
And keep Obama and Rahm away from their Johns in the insurance companies.
