Anybody Else Get The Feeling That 2010 Is Gonna Be A Real Interesting Year Here At DU ???
I mean this site started after the stolen election of 2000. And while the Dem/Left/Prog/Lib/Cent/Indie/Conserva types were out of power, it was easy to coalesce against the injustice of Bush v. Gore and all that followed. IOW - it was easier to be united against the Evil Empire of Bush/Cheney.

But after taking back, by building back our majorities in, congress, and then recapturing the White House, we come to the final days of the first full year of being "back in charge". And all the retrospectives of 2009 will start bombarding us and reminding us of the curve of history this year.

And 2010 is an election year. And people are pissed. And feelings are raw.

And I predict... the mods are gonna have their hands full.

Anybody else seeing this storm brewing?

1. DU has been broken since the poor handling of the primaries.
Expect a fair number of account toastings next year.

13. The only problem with the primaries
came from one candidate trying to change the rules after the fact.

4. I think it's going to be hell
The 2008 primary wars will be viewed with fond nostalgia for long after the 2010 election furor finally dies down.

8. I got the feeling that there are some paid
RW operatives here - who make it seem that they are liberal - but know when to grab the opportunity to pour on the hate in the hope of swaying people away from the left or not participating.

12. Yup. The new guy is now The Establishment.

So--does a site by this name back the establishment or take the oppositional stand? Remains to be seen, IMO.

Just the usual Obama haters and whiners, except for more of them. I think we are getting a lot of members from Freeperville these days. I mean, fuck. If a lot of these posts are made by actual liberals, we're in deep shit. Instead of supporting one of our own, some are tearing him down. Fuck that. It will sink us and we'll end up with someone like Palin in the White House, which would please a lot of the people who just love to bitch and moan and play the wounded martyr about EVERYTHING.

15. It should be a working year if we are smart. There is a lot riding on
2010 and I am hoping we can find ways to pinpoint races we can make a difference in and use our money and our mouths to get it done. We have done it before we can forget the past and work together or we will lose everything.
