That in this "health" bill the insurance that you are forced to buy...can put "caps" on how sick you can get. If you get an expensive disease..they can just stop your policy.
Whatever you do America...don't get too sick..

27. Don't we get it yet? It's down to republicans vs. Americans.
Billions, trillions even, put straight on the national debt to kill foreign people overseas. But a proposal to provide health care to help the American people that pays for itself MUST BE STOPPED at all costs!!

What real American would ever put killing foreigners ahead of helping Americans? What real American would allow our American children to starve while pushing hard for constant war and the death of people different from them, whether it's Muslims in Iraq or gays in Uganda?

I'm sorry, but I simply cannot recognize right-wing conservative extremists as Americans. Their attitude is explicitly un-American. Their policies, when followed, are universally destructive to America and its citizens, as we have seen to our dismay so many times since the Reagan Disaster.

This is how we progressives need to frame our discussions: not as republicans vs. Democrats, but rather as republicans vs. Americans. This is the real battle. When discussing alternative policies, we need to constantly contrast "republican policies" with "American policies". We need to constantly distinguish in our speaking and writing between republican commentators and American commentators, between republican politicians and American politicians, and so on.

Clearly, republican extremists are not real "Americans", are certainly not "Christians", and are missing big parts of what it means to be human, like empathy and compassion, not to mention a moral sense as well as logic, reason, and a thinking brain. So let's talk about them this way at every opportunity. Why should they always get to frame every discussion? We can do it too!

31. exactly!!!
I've felt this way for quite some time, but could never articulate it the way you just did..good job. There is this huge misconception that leaning left is un-American or un-patriotic... when we all know we are quite the opposite. .We need to change that.

We did this where I worked (changed name of biz to reflect what we actually did) we just had to use the name often in every conversation and it caught on quickly.

Call the republicans out!! No more partisanship, you're either American or you're republican...no longer call yourself a democrat or a liberal or a progressive, you are an American against those trying to destroy America. I do think it would put them in a place they cannot deny being, even though their ability to deny is huge, they simply cannot deny being un-American when they are being called out by the masses at every turn.

Please take your above thread and post it in every democratic, progressive and liberal message boards as you can, find, get an email chain started....Start a new thread under war, war against the un-american rethugs....this is an excellent idea that requires some vocal Dem's, libs and progressives..and DU has a ton of us.

32. For Sure We Need To Out Repukes As The Party Of "NO" But At The
same time, we must PUSH BACK against what THIS Administration has done to "court" Repukes and bend over to WHAT THEY WANT! Add this to what Blue Dogs (and they're a LOT of them) are doing to what I always felt about the Democratic Party!!

What I'm seeing from the Executive Branch AND the Democratic Congress not only breaks my heart, but has hit me in the gut so hard it makes my stomach churn! Talking with others that I meet and those family members and personal friends, there seems to be a feeling that just under the surface there is growing anger that just may explode!! Some say it's going to take much more, but I'm beginning to get that "hinky" feeling that there's some kinetic energy brewing!!

It's more than sad that it's come to this, but the general public which includes not only Democrats, but also Progressive Independents and Moderate Republicans are getting weary and VERY WARY about what is being shoved at us! Listening to C-Span every morning I'm hearing "many" Repubs say much of what we are here! They don't like the WAR, and they are ANGRY about how we focus more on other countries than how we need to "fix" our own country! At first I felt it was Dems posing as Repubs, but I'm hearing is more and more and they can't ALL be posing as Repubs since I hear it more and more.

We've tried so hard to use the usual means of communication to send messages to those in D.C. and yet they chose to ignore us! Frankly, for me and I think many here at DU and many of the other Progressive/Liberal blogs there is much unrest. They AREN'T listening ergo they must not care! How else can one interpret this? I know I'm sick of all the petitions, writing, calling and whatever that has been asked of me, and not seeing ANY real result from my efforts!

I'm don't want to run around saying the "sky is falling" but I won't look the other way when I feel that it just MIGHT BE!

I'm just sayin'... we may have to "get ready" for UPHEAVAL! I'm sick of "give them time" because it only seems to be getting worse! Sorry, this was a little long, I just wanted to make my point.

JMHO!
