The Health Care Reform bill includes a loophole whereby the Health Insurance you will be forced to buy will be allowed to cap your medical care. If you get too sick to remain profitable, you are allowed to die.

3. OK, after trudging through the blog post linking to the other blog post... |
|
...linking to the original AP article, it appears that the allowable cap amount will be set by the government, not the insurance companies. Still not great, but no the same thing as insurance companies being arbitrarily allowed to cap coverage however they like.

The cap may be set by the government, but in the interest of whom?
When it comes to legislation, any affected industry is going to do and spend anything they have to to ensure their interests and protected by that legislation.
For example...
Big Pharma, like Big Banking and Big Business in general, has been living parasitically off of the American people with the aid of a majority of elected representative doing the same. Investment is socialized. Losses are socialized. Advertising is socialized. Only PROFITS are privatized. Worse, many drugs, such as statins, are over-prescribed. Worse still, many pharmaceuticals are rushed into the market, where people are used as guinea pigs.
Bernie Sanders has been taking on this issue over the past week.
Health care reform legislation, as is now stands in the House and Senate versions, are shadows of what they might have been, and I seriously question whether the American people will be better off, or worse off, if final version is passed.
