I stopped by my neighborhood bar tonight, and while sitting there noticed that the owner was wearing a pistol in an ankle hoister. I assume that it is legal but it was a tad disconcerting. What dose DU think?

5. not that I have ever seen. He may have drink or two before going home. |
|
But It makes me wonder are the other managers packing too?

7. It wouldn't concern me if he maintains sobriety while packing. |

I've never known why those were considered a good thing |

Wouldn't you have been shot by the other person before you could REACH the gun?

3. Don't know what 'DU' thinks, |
|
but if its NOT illegal, I think its outrageous. Some appear to think 'their country' is the Wild Wild West. Not I.

8. Good Idea for the owner |

Drunks can get violent at times, best to be armed.

9. well, I have not tried it personally but it seems like a bad place to draw from |
|
I'm betting he has another in a more convenient location. I would.

11. It isn't uncommon for a bar to have a gun |
|
somewhere within reach. Bartenders absolutely hate to call the police -- they like to handle their own messes. However, the bar owner might have a gun for a different reason. He might be keeping it for protection when he goes to make his deposit. I've known a few people who have been robbed while doing that.

12. good thought. The local cops often stop by there for dinner. |
|
So I wouldn't think it would be the wises place to try to rob.
