Would You Like To See A More Progressive Congress?
There's a three word solution to that...

GET ACTIVE NOW!

Primaries are getting ready to heat up. Support the challengers in seats where you think a more progressive member of Congress could be elected.

Best example I can give is Arlen Specter in Pennsylvania.

If you would rather Congress swing back to the right, all you have to do is sit out 2010.

2. Sounds insane
Doing the same thing time and again, yet expecting different results.

4. Funny
I don't see many progressives actively seeking to primary the Blue Dogs who are in very blue districts.

But go ahead and whine. You can play the oh so put upon minority once the GOP takes over again.

3. Absolutely, and part of that means making our presence known
now. We must not let our representatives forget about us when they are staking out positions.

6. We need a Democratic spokesperson. Our own Ronald Reagan.
I guess some would disagree. But Reagan was so good he convinced a lot of Dems to vote for him. All Republicans got behind him. We are disjointed. Half our Congressmen are more to the right than the voters. I wanted an election where Bush members were dragged before a tribunal, all military action stopped, military spending turned into health care, education, energy technology. And most people I know wanted this as well.

I should have posted this when I woke up in the middle of the night last night. I had it all clearly spelled out. I know we aren't like the conservative mindset. But until we get united and start turning this country around, we're going to just see more of the same polluted and criminal politics.

I don't think bipartisanship is the way forward. This is a war we're in with conservatives. Packing courts is what we need to do. We need to dismantle the Murdoch empire. Reverse the damage done by the FCC. Do all of the things people think are too extreme. Make conservatives redundant. We need more Graysons. More Kuciniches.

Never mind. I'm dreaming.

7. It's all horseshit until corporate ca$h is outta the election process.
W/ few exceptions, I don't care what letter you stick by the pols name, the only one matters is 'C' for corrupt corporate capitalist cocksucker.

8. No, being active is critical...
My Alaska delegation is worthless, but they still hear from me at least weekly, and I always include "cc: Bernie Sanders" at the top, just to piss them off.

I do plan to help target conservative Democrats wherever it looks like it won't do more harm than good. I'm kind of isolated here in Alaska, but I am fortunate to have a few spare dollars to help out where I can.

11. Welcome to DU, Goldstein1984.
It's always good to see more Alaskans here.

I still write to Mark and Lisa now and then, but I gave up on Don a long time ago. :P

9. That meme - "all politics is local" - surely has relevance in off years.
And, obviously, in State and Local contests anytime.

Lower off year turn outs often provide opportunities that would be swamped in Presidential election years.

10. Sure, I'd settle for the Progs we already have or Dems in general showing more knowledge of...
24hr news cycles and political hand-to-hand combat, cause when the opposition throws the whole trolley off the track with a teabag someone is standing too flat-footed
