I was clearly too harsh in my weekend post, so I will say the same thing without inflammatory language.

If one peppers one's argument with insults aimed at those whose opinions they wish to sway, it will not be a successful attempt.

This is obvious to those who participate in the political process. Those on the receiving end might be forgiven, in such a situation, for believing the goal of anyone behaving in that manner is not truly to sway the opinions of those participating in the discussion, but rather to fill some unrelated and unhelpful need.

4. The folks who insult and harass folks here are lame

I get attacked for my antinuke stuff or my philosophy of the Nazis in our midst (on wall street and washington) or on my BELIEFS, say about Hitler being helped to escape to Argentina by the Bushnazis, etc, and I find the attacks on my credibility and psychological state are SO LAME>

It is as if there are 13 year old neonazis with keyboards and computers in the bodies of grown people taking me on for what I believe and saying stupidity like "take your meds" or saying it is paranioa, etc.

But my feeling is that these tactics are diversionary (to make one not want to read the threads, as well as subtle propagganda tactics to dissuay people from considering ideas that they may not have been exposed to before.

My father used to say, don't say I am right or wrong when you respond: just CONSIDER what I am saying and think about it.

I learned a long time ago that you cannot convince someone what is true or not you can and should really only try to convince them what YOU believe to be true or right and let them figure it out on their own.

Instead the active disruptors/message control propagandists act like jerks and insult other posters.
