I mean, seriously, what's the fucking point if no-one gets any health benefits from it?

And while we're at it, will somebody please explain to me just what the fuck was the point in working for and donating toward the campaigns of these gutless bastards in the "majority"?

I am fucking fed-up, sick and tired, and I've had enough...

"Change" my ass....

4. Stop ranting...
We still don't know what's going to be in the final bill.

In fact, if I were a gambler, I'd place my bets on no HCR bill passing, rather than one with no public option and no Medicare buy-in.

You really need to stop the knee-jerk responses every time Politico comes out with another soon-to-be-debunked story, and gets duly reported on the front page of HuffPost.

5. shhh... don't show your disgust over a blatantly corporate-owned congress backed up by a WH that has
far too many connections to big business who want to keep things as watered down as possible! You'll be accused of being racist or a freeper or some other ridiculous insult by the gang of 10.

That means thousands of people won't die every year because they don't have health insurance.

17. Expansion of insurance, not health care...BIG HUGEM MAJOR difference
Edited on Mon Dec-14-09 04:19 PM by debbierlus
The fact that the insurance companies can continue to deny care (preexisting conditions is just one of a zillion excuses they use to not pay out) shows what this bill to be a complete and utter scam.

Full coverage, comprehensive policies will remain priced out of reach for tens of millions of Americans.

All to keep the insurance companies in the black.

It is disgusting.

This bill needs to be FOUGHT at this point, not championed.

24. From what I gather
is that the premiums will be made affordable through subsidies paid from tax increases by the wealthy. The overall cost on the economy will still be high because they aren't doing enough to control the insurance companies. The current Senate bill says that they have to use 85% of their revenues for actual health care. Let see how the final bill looks like.

7. I'm betting that private insurance mandates will be left in the end..
It will indeed be interesting times if that happens.

Democrats are going to lose a great deal of support indeed if private mandates are passed.

8. What you have to realize is that it's all gossip at this point
because we don't know if Lieberman or Nelson will actually commit political suicide by following through and trying to kill it completely. Right now it's all threats and bluster.

We also don't know if it will be filibustered or Reid will grow a spine for five minutes and send it to reconciliation, which is what really should happen in this case. It's just too important an issue for too many of us to be held hostage to overbearing egos.

That's the hell of this thing, we have the corporate media reporting every rumor and every threat as accomplished fact.

We won't know what's in it until it's passed. That's all we know right now.

14. Why do you hate Obama?
The new HCR is HOPE. Hope you don't get sick, cause you can't afford a doctor.

Seriously, the only thing that is going to be left is a simple law that everyone has to buy health insurance at whatever the insurance companies want to charge you.

If that is what is passed then the democratic party will get thrashed for DECADES.

21. Pre-existing conditions clause bans, out-of-pocket caps, subsidies, expanded Medicaid.
We still need this bill and it still has a hell of a lot of good stuff in it.

And I still contend that we'll have an easier time getting more reform if we pass this bill and work on revisiting it in a few years than if the entire effort fails. If we end up with nothing, Congress will refuse to touch health care for another 20-30 years.

28. What is this? The 3rd time we've been told the Public Option is dead?
Or maybe the 4th? What makes you believe this time?

Senate bill isn't written and even then it would still have to go through reconciliation with the house version which has a public option. It's a long way from done.
