Seems Like HCR Is Coming Down To 4 Options ....
One, Democrats come to realization that 'Reconciliation' is the only sure route; OR

Two, Democrats lower the boom on Lieberman and persuade him to vote for the HCR with the Medicare Buy-in. "lowering the boom" in this case would be explaining ALL privileges of caucusing with Democrats would be withdrawn, all benefits would be withdrawn, and all Democratic members will shun him, unless he changes his mind.

Three, Democrats 'give in' to Lieberman and his ilk, strip the HCR bill of any public option, Medicare buy-in, and keep all the provisions that benefit Healthcare Insurers.

Four, give up on the HCR (a la Clinton's attempt) and try again later.

I don't see any other choices out there. I certainly don't see any attempt to alter or eliminate the filibuster in the Senate succeeding.

2. That will insure huge Democratic losses in the midterm, and create bigger problems...
I am most dubious about option 3.

3. Which is exactly why they'll do it.
Democrats are masters of shooting themselves in the foot.

8. As I said... don't underestimate option 4 (No Bill)....
Dean's call that the Senate Bill without a public option and/or a Medicare Buy-in should be killed, just might push option 4 to the top of the list.

we won't be invading iran.

unlike iraq- they REALLY CAN fight back.

we don't attack countries that can do that-
it would take COURAGE.
