17. that has to include obama and company. they had it made to roll this
in and they fucked it away starting with pharma. He never intended to do it the right way. He was always going to give the companies what they wanted. He just hopes we didn't see their 'awesome' slight of hand.

9. Yup. I actually really like Lieberman when he was on the ticket. Right now I hate him. He's such
a neocon.

5. So how does that excuse Benedict Droopy Dog?
Isn't he one of those spineless lumps of flesh?

Of course no Democrats elected him in 2006. They voted for Ned Lamont.

7. Yes, indeed he is, and his actions in running as independent...
were atrocious. But he is not to blame for the complete failure of the Democrats in the Senate to stands up for what is right.

Blame him if you want, but he would be irrelevant if the Senate Dems had a freakin clue.

8. So, you don't understand that it takes 60 votes to pass
legislation?

And the Dems don't have the 60 votes without Lieberman.

I am beginning to think that all of these posts that are directing anger at people other than Lieberman are designed to defeat the Dems and take us back to the good old days. I can just see South Carolina's DeMint in charge. It'll be back to the segregationist, sexist, fundamentalist, elitist society that FDR and LBJ and Carter and Clinton and Obama have tried so hard to change.

Some of you have views that line up with Kucinich. Kucinich had his chance. The majority of Dems didn't vote for him. We live in the real world and should fight hard for the best deal we can get at this time. Those people who refused to vote for Gore because he was just "another Corporist" found out what a real corporist is.

A lot of DUers have that same mindset now.

10. The Dems are defeating themselves
By kowtowing and giving up what they should stand for. Your "best deal" is gonna be a bill that hurts working Americans. But that's OK...keep cheerleading.

11. And no bill at all
means that the Repubs win. I wonder if Palin/Huckabee will appoint Lieberman to be in charge of HHS. I hope that will make you happy.

12. Lieberman is symptomatic of a greater systemic problem
the roots of which have not even been touched during this entire health insurance reform debacle.

14. No, Lieberman (with the help of the US Senate rules) is exactly the problem.
He had the good luck to be the deciding vote--something for which the Democratic leadership is not responsible--and he is using it for all its worth in his egotistical grandstanding.

We'd have a bill passed without him.
