Why should any Democrat wake up tomorrow w/Joe Lieberman as a Committee head in the Senate?

There are limits. I guess campaigning with the Republican Presidential nominee wasn't enough. Is derailing the most vital piece of legislation in a generation and siding with Republican obstructionists enough?
