2. True, but depending what happens with HCR, I am not too confident there will be a lot
of motivated Democrats voting in 2010

8. And they shouldn't be surprised
If you vote against a Republican and for a Democrat because you have democratic values, and that Democrat doesn't work for the people, then they shouldn't be able to expect a vote just because they are a Democrat.

I was once a union organizer. Our union endorsed a local candidate. When that candidate asked me who I planned to vote for, he was upset when I told him I was waiting to hear more before deciding. He told me I "wasn't a very good union member." So what? No union, no political party, and no employer is going to tell me how to vote.

They produce results. They at least try to fulfill their campaign promises. They do not betray our shared values. Or they should be looking for another line of work.

That said, sometimes you have to vote for the lesser of two evils. To keep McCain/Palin out of office, I would have voted for the Hitler/Mussolini ticket.

9. No argument here.
No public option + no caps + IRS-enforced mandates = my ass staying home. But, we'll just have to see how it plays out...

4. If they screw up healthcare reform, and it looks like they are headed that way, I suspect
there will not be too many motivated Democrats wanting to vote in 2010

7. They were fucked before that
When people are unemployed and having problems with their mortgages and their house is worth less than the debt they have outstanding on it.

They don't give a fuck about Health Insurance.

5. No matter who we vote for, we still end up with Republicans.
I guess a lot of people figure there's no point in bothering.

6. They might, or if we are lucky, progressives, liberals, or even moderates may start to challenge
these obstructionists who don't stand for the people

There is no doubt based on all the polls in Connecticut, that the majority of that populous do not support what lieberman is doing
