I saw a bumper sticker today... |
|
I saw a really :sarcasm: charming :sarcasm: bumper sticker today on a Chevy pickup I came upon on hte highway. It's the one that said that if Mary was pro-choice we wouldn't be celebrating Christmas.
Nice. It's idiots like this that really turn my stomach. If I could say one thing to the owner of said pickup, it would be, "Jesus loves you. Everyone else thinks you're an asshole."

4. Searching your posts shows me you won't be long here. Pro-choice is for choice, |
|
not for everyone getting an abortion. Go away.

7. That's pretty funny. So providing health care will increase the number of people with cancer? |
|
 You guys are funny, in a Three Stooges sort of way.

9. Not always. Often, taxes just drive the practices underground |
|
High taxes on cigarettes are creating a whole new class of black market criminals. Increasing subsidies for adoption would be a good thing. Increasing assistance for poor women trying to raise their children would discourage abortions. But taxing it? It may discourage some abortions but it will increase the need for public assistance. The women who would be hindered in choosing abortion are the poor. Affluent women will still have the means to make their own choices.

2. The diffrence between pro-choicers and anti-choicers |
|
is that pro-choicers want people to be afforded the opportunity to choose. They can continue the pregnancy and keep the resultant baby, continue the pregnancy and give the resultant baby up for adoption, or terminate the pregnancy. Anti-choicers want only one thing--to prevent women from having any choices. To that end they want to make abortion, birth control and every other means women have of controlling their reproduction illegal.
But all that aside we'd still be celebrating Christmas because it's just another thing the ancient Christians ripped off from the Pagans, changing a few names, symbols and rituals, and sold to the masses as their own.

10. It's always that way. Conservatives seem unable to grasp that allowing is not requiring. |
|
You tell them no one should be forced to pray in school, they hear "No one can pray in school." You tell them marriage should be for everyone regardless of gender, they hear "Everyone must become gay." You tell them that wishing people "Happy Holidays" when you don't know their religion is more polite than saying "Merry Christmas," they hear "You can't celebrate Christmas.
It has to be a mental illness. There's no other explanation.
