The question isn't 'Why didn't OBAMA get everything he wanted?' |
|
The question is "Why didn't PROGRESSIVES get anything they wanted?'
The Democratic Party is indeed a big tent. The Progressive caucus has just begun to coalesce into any kind of factor. The other groups such as the Blue Dogs have been around and throwing their weight forever.
The sturm and drang you hear isn't coming from anywhere but the Progressive wing. Joe Lieberman is the shiny object that absorbs our fury. He deserves every epithet thrown at him. However, the shit should be flung at a lot of craven mucks who used him as a front. He was and is the perfect person to front the rest of them.
He won't lose his chairmanship. Joe has too valuable a role to play. Oh, there will be much ado about retribution. I'll believe it when I see it.

1. Just wait till the midterms when independents flock to the polls to vote for bipartisan Democrats |
|
NOT! When Republicans regain control of the Senate, Joe will caucus with them.

3. You're assuming that he really wanted real health Care reform in the first place. I can't. |
|
His actions on other matters are screaming much louder than his perty words, so why not this?

4. That's one of the points. |

The Progressives weren't left out by chance IMHO.
