And so did everyone in the Senate who enabled him.
And so did the senators who betrayed their party to campaign for his reelection as a non-Democrat AGAINST the Democratic nominee.
And so did the system they serve.

There's only one reason Joementum is being the major asshole...cause he can and he's a vindictive shitstain. He was rejected by rank and file Democrats twice...first his awful attempt at getting the nomination in 2004 and then his primary loss in '06. He hasn't been a Democrat since and he's made it his business to get "even" with Democrats ever since. Shame on Reid for trying to coddle this oxygen thief...he should have been backbenched and stripped of his power earlier this year...now he sees a chance to ram it up the party's ass and he's not hesitating...no lube either.
His vanity is so large now he's more than happy to go against things he said and stood for in the past...and all for one reason...it gives him centerstage and this is what he strives for. He's more interested in being the toast of faux noise and see his name in the papers than to have any principals or integrity. Doesn't matter...it's all one big game to him.

to pander to Maine in the bill, and picked up a twofer with both Republican Senators, instead. If you're in the business of kissing ass with your enemies, why not pick an enemy that lets you claim bipartisanship?

...you could at least have gotten a triggered public option with Snowe. Nothing great, but better than the nothing we're getting now.
