Own a Piece of Beer History: Organizing a "crowdsourced" buyout of Pabst

WHAT'S THIS?

Born out of the principle of crowdsourcing, two advertising agencies have come together for a first...to buy Pabst Brewing Co., brewers of over 25 well known beer brands. The asking price is $300 Million, not a small number, but through crowdsourcing pledges of as little as $5.00, the cost of a bottle of beer, this can be achieved based on the largest crowdsourced audience assembled, ever.

As the pledges come in, the ticker above will countdown to zero, whereby an offer will be made to purchase Pabst Brewing Co. through a historic first.

So, c’mon, let’s have a beer together.

2. Before you get my money are we talking buying a beer company or Pabst?
Patst = Slightly alcoholc yellow fizzy foul tasting water, not beer.

5. What do I get for the 5 bucks?
Do I get a share of the new stock in the company? Who will be the new owners?

6. You would probably get a share of stock.
The website linked in the OP does not give any details nor does it have a link to any legal or SEC information.

I would suspect that you would end up getting a share or more (or less, depending on the share price) and the answer to your question "Who will be the new owners? " would be "the shareholders".

If it's a publicly traded company, that's who owns it. Shareholders.

7. That is my point it does not say
If all I am doing is giving $5 to help someone else buy a company I would rather sent that money to one of several causes I support. If it is for a share I would buy 3 or 4, one for myself to hang in the bar and frame the rest for gag gifts.

9. The web page has precious little info.
I'd like to know more. I'd like to know if the purchase is made, will it result in American workers keeping their jobs? How? More info, please. If this keeps the brewery open and in the USA and keeps Americans working and would not allow for outsourcing on any jobs then I would be there with a C note and I'd petition my RW neighbors as well. But I'm not gonna pledge money for some goddamn bait & switch.
