Lieberman's offices not answering phones
Just called both Hartford and DC offices---phones rang off the hook and, "Sorry, we can't answer the phone right now, call back later" message.

I guess Lie-man is scared of his constituents now.

2. Maybe a few protests and sit ins around his offices and his residences
might point out the error of his ways to him. There's nothing like an angry mob to give some second thoughts about their actions.

4. I can't go to the rally today due to work but I'll be making an appt asap

to speak to someone in his office, in person. Rally info from MoveOn:

Last night, Majority Leader Harry Reid announced that Senate Democrats are willing to accept Joe Lieberman's demands to gut the health care bill.1

According to press reports, Sen. Reid was acting at the behest of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, who told him Democrats should give up on the public option and on expanding Medicare in order to get Lieberman's vote.2

But while the White House is pressuring Democrats to cave in to Joe Lieberman, President Obama doesn't appear to have even bothered to contact Lieberman directly to tell him to stop obstructing health care reform.3

This new deal isn't final yet, but to stop it we need President Obama to step up. So MoveOn members are holding an emergency rally in front of the White House at 1 p.m. this afternoon, where we'll call on the President to stand up to Joe Lieberman and fight for real health care reform with a public option.

We know it's short notice, but we need as many people as possible to get the media's attention and show that grassroots progressives aren't ready to cave in to Joe Lieberman. Can you join us?

13. And if that doesn't work
I suggest people try calling one of the insurance companies in his home state and ask to speak with Joe. The operator will know who you're talking about.

7. Perhaps, with flu & all, staff had to go to Iraq or Isreal to see doctors?
Staff doesn't get paid enough to deal with the fury in Joe's wake.

Good luck. Hope you get further than I did. At least Max wasn't a headliner at the GOP convention, not that it helps us any.

Remember Joe Lieberman was Obama’s Mentor in the Senate

By: fflambeau Monday December 14, 2009 10:05 pm

Those who are up in arms over Sen. Joe Lieberman’s "veto" of the extension of Medicare should remember this. When Sen. Barack Obama arrived in Washington, D.C. in 2005, he selected as his mentor none other than: Joe Lieberman.

Here’s David Sirota writing about this, after discussing Obama’s stab in the back of the progressive Lamont in Connecticut and his stab in the back of the progressive Christine Cegelis (Obama backed Duckworth) way back in 2006:

snip:

Other sources, including the Hartford Courant, reported that Obama chose Lieberman as his mentor.]

18. I sometimes wonder if our representatives really pay any
attention to our calls, emails, petitions, etc.. When their time for re-election comes up, there is a 15% turn out to the polls, and somehow these same people stay in power. 8 years from now I will turn on C-Span to watch the house and senate, and see the same faces on the floor.
