Poll question: Position poll on health insurance reform |
|
Do you support the bill, and how sure are you that you or someone you love will significantly benefit from the bill we end up with in the end?

3. Since I'm on Medicare, it will help me but I oppose the bill for |
|
the mandates and promoting corporate welfare at the expense of the taxpayers and the working poor.

More taxpayer dollars being spoon-fed to corporations.
Without a public option, there is nothing to challenge the insurance industry to cut prices.
Start over next year.

Did you oppose subsidized private insurance 4 years ago when the main primary Democrats all first proposed it?

6. I've always opposed it. |
|
We should not be giving private insurance companies corporate welfare, when we can extend a perfectly good public plan Medicare to those who need to be insured.

7. So you supported Kucinich then? |
|
I don't remember. But one of Howard Dean's biggest issues was health care so I would imagine since you didn't support his plan, you didn't support him.

8. That's taking things a bit out of context don't you think? |
|
I still support Obama although I don't agree with his approach to health care reform. One can be exclusive of the other. I supported Dean in 2004 and Kucinich in 2008 although I'm a supporter of a single payer universal health care system as put forth by the Physicians for A National Health Plan, which I don't think neither Dean nor Kucinich was behind. In any form insurance cannot offer basic health care, only the national health care plan can, in order for it to work and be cost effective. This is a concept that is operative in all the Western developed countries that cover all their citizens with basic, quality and comprehensive healthcare coverage. Otherwise it's all bull shit. This plan approved by President Liarman a few hours ago is just that. I hope wiser heads prevail in conference.

9. When does the "parents' insurance till 27 years old" kick in? |
|
If it's immediate, it will help me. If it's after 2012, it won't.
