My last hope as per health care reform this year
Obama & Reid do what they need to do to pass any bill out of the senate
afterwords a public option and or medicare "buy in" is put in the bill along
w/ a drug re-importation wording is put in the bill during the House / Senate
mark up session and they pass it w/ 50 + 1 (Biden) votes

1. If only. And the argument against doing reconciliation now is the delay.
But it would be a different question following conference committee.

2. You are misunderstanding the conference process
the bill that comes out of the conference between the house and the senate will also need to pass the 60-vote cloture threshold. The "reconciliation" bill that only needs 50+1 that people talk about is a different process, and requires an entirely different bill.
