and he'd end up being "just another Republican" ... not much value on those these days ...

He's on his way.

Lieberman goes where the power goes.

He sees the support eroding from Congressional Democrats.

He is immanentizing the eschaton - simultaneously preparing for, and helping along the take over of the Senate by the Republicans next year.
