The Canadians and the British have to think we are idiots!
I am sure they wonder how in the hell we can be debating something as necessary as Health Care for our citizens!

It is so sad that we cannot make this work in a country this great.

We have to look like a joke Internationally.

16. You are being very generous!
I've lived in Britain for several years before coming back to the States. . .and I have had a chance to experience British health care first hand. . .I have never had any complaints with any of it!
And I would give up my costly private insurance in the States any day to get the same care I got in England for FREE!
And actually, if I had to pay for both equally. . .I would still select the British health care system!

5. No, not a joke at all. We have our own trying their hardest to privatize ours.
Just feeling sad watching it, hoping it turns out better than what I understand it to be.

9. If anything,
we are a benefit to the world. We stand as a leading example of what can happen when your citizenry become indifferent to widespread corruption and corporate manipulation in their government. We're kind of like the international bogeyman to modern, industrialized nations and their citizens should they dare let their guard down to the wolves. If anything, we scare them back into vigilance.

21. You're right about that.

We don't think all Americans are idiots, just that there are scattered groups of people who couldn't find a clue if it hit them in the face. From my point of view, the American government machine itself seems to have been fundamentally broken over the last thirty years.

Fix your education system first and you'll automatically fix large parts of other problems like healthcare.
