Unfortunately the path to 'real change' always ran first through Campaign Finance Reform, then HCR.. |
|
Anyone who doubted the power of special interests $$ on Capitol Hill has now been given the ultimate object lesson.
Hundreds of millions of dollars has been spent to influence the outcome of the HCR bill by those who will benefit the most. They have been visible to the public as they sent out an army of lobbyists, and have met jointly with Republicans who have 'carried their water' as a unified obstruction party.
If the need for that $$ went away there would be far fewer members of Congress willing to vote against the interests of their constituents.
And HCR, real Health Care Reform, would likely pass easily.
But not now.... not when members of the House and Senate spend an inordinate amount of their time raising money for reelection efforts.

Not you. Just the talking points.
Why did Bank bailouts and War funding have so little trouble getting through these treacherous proceedings?

Try getting those owned Congress members to forgo their corporate campaign donations and the perks that come with them.
The career politicians in DC have us by the short hairs, they know campaign reform cant be done without them.
