Lieberman: 'Unlikely' That I'll Run With GOP In 2012, 'But I Wouldn't Foreclose Any Possibility'
Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) isn't ruling out the possibility that he would run for re-election in 2012 as a Republican -- which would certainly be an odd situation for the 2000 Democratic nominee for vice president.

"I don't know what I'll run as," Lieberman told CNN. "I like being an independent, so that's definitely a possibility. I'd say that all options are open."

"It's unlikely that I would run as a Republican," he added, "but I wouldn't foreclose any possibility."

Go already you damn traitor! The day you stood with McCain over Obama is the day you went to the dark side. Get out and don't let the door hit you!

12. He isn't running as anything, anymore.
He just finished his political life. The left didn't care for the back stabbing and the Republicans know he's capable of it.

Don't banish him. Keep him and use him, while going around him.

16. I predict he will change parties and seek the Republican nomination for president
He'll think they owe him. After all, he reasons, he single handedly stripped the last shred of reform out of the Democrats' Health Care Reform bill. He'll get anihilated in the primary and then he'll hate Republicans, too.In 2016 he'll go out as a Republican and endorse the Libertarian presidential candidate.

17. He'll be too old to be on the ticket. He'll be even older than Reagan or Cheney.
Reagan spent most of his time in office sleeping. Cheney spent much of his time in office hiding. So I'm guessing Lieberman would spend most of his time in office playing "hide and sleep"

21. He knows running as a Democrat is out
His ONLY chance is to run as a Republican or again as an Independent and I think the Democrats that voted for him last time will not do so again. I think he is putting himself in a corner where the ONLY way he stands any chance at all is as a Republican and that is minimal.

27. Lieberman also said it was unlikely that he would use a procedural vote to stop HCR
He said a few weeks back that he would be inclined to allow a bill to come up for a vote and vote his conscience on the substance of it. That didn't take long to change.

Lieberman WILL run as a Republican if he decides to run for reelection. It is the only slim chance he has of being returned to the Senate
