DO NOT SEND CASH
Or check, or money order, or credit card.

DO NOT DONATE to the Democratic party.

Every fundraising email you get: hit reply and change the subject line to: NO PUBLIC OPTION, NO MONEY

We have to find EVERY WAY POSSIBLE to register our DISGUST. We have called and written (keep doing that). Maybe money - lack of it - will get through to them.

I understand compromise. But this is not compromise - it's utter, complete capitulation - to the insurance companies and the whores who do their bidding. Looking back on this charade ("How This Shit Sandwich Was Concocted and Served to the American People" would make quite the book, no?), it's clear REAL REFORM was NEVER ON THE TABLE. Not only did they take universal health care off the table, but turning "reform" over to the Congresstitutes assured this mess.

Even Howard Dean, who hung in with them as long as his conscience would allow has washed his hands of them.

Our Congresstitutes get plenty of money from the insurance industry, so why waste ours? Find or add a worthwhile charity.

Not another red cent.

3. I've been doing this for a long time.
When they call, I tell them I will donate only to individuals who I feel deserve to be re-elected. I tell them the Democratic Party has let me down too many times, and there are too many who need to be replaced.

I'm pretty sure it's not the first time they've heard that.

10. I'm sure the GOP will thank you
As much as we hate to see HCR go down in flames, withholding donations to the democratic party is just what they want, and all they had to do is say no to everything the democrats try to do! Your anger at the Dems is understandable, but giving repukes a possible advantage in fundraising insures there will never be meaningful reform to any progressive issues. Think about it.

To the contrary, donating to dems this next election can help increase our numbers and may make additional amendments to the HCR possible once we gain a few more votes. We are so close to having a major majority, the republicans cannot afford to let the dems pass any meaningful legislation in fear they will do just that!

Don't get tunnel vision on this one issue. HCR was the number one issue for me, too. Paying $18K+/yr in premiums is breaking me, but letting repukes back in the majority will only make things worse. I will support whatever version of HCR comes up because something is better than nothing, and any bill can be amended.

Our wish to achieve a major majority is so close, we cannot break ranks now. We have to hold the line and forge ahead. A few more votes and we're there. Just think of it as a means to kick Lieberman's ass out of the party once we replace his vote. Not having to deal with the blue dogs and Lieberman is the goal. Five more seats and we're there. So close!

Sorry but its more than obvious that the Democratic Party is filled with WEAK and TIMID members and they don't deserve my hard earned money..

20. Cop out
The democratic party has a FEW weak and timid members, and since we don't have enough seats to cover those three or four weak links, we need to make a final push to cover those votes. Imagine being able to kick Lieberman out of the party, and making the blue dogs powerless! We are so damned close. Don't let the repukes trick you into submission now. We should be going all out to gain a couple of more seats in the Senate this next election.

Believe me, I am just as disappointed as anyone over the current state of the HCR bill, but the alternative is nothing. This is the result of 100% of republicans voting no on every damned thing! Change your focus to attacking the foxes eating the chickens!

Imagine being able to kick Lieberman out of the party, and making the blue dogs powerless!

How is donating to the DNC going to achieve this? They are responsible for the election of Lieberman and the Blue Dogs and will support them again (against progressive candidates).

13. I am fairly certain the Health care industry will pick up all the slack
Democrats won't lack for money even if the entire base quit giving. They are deeply in the pockets of Corporations now. Hell maybe even more so than the republicans..

17. I wouldn't count on that.
Now that the Democrats have given the health care industry everything
it wanted, the Republicans are a more reliable party for maintaining the
rich person's Status Quo.

Watch them shift their donations back to the Republicans!

26. Blah blah blah..
... if the Dems are no better than the Repugs, and this crop ISN'T, why would I give two shits about your pathetic argument?

It is NOT ONE ISSUE. It is EVERY ISSUE. Obama has not delivered on ONE SIGNIFICANT PROMISE.

FUCK THIS SHIT. We will have NO POWER until we exercise with passion the one single power that we have - to throw the bastards that work against us OUT OF OFFICE. I don't care if you are DEM or REP, if you are for ENDLESS WAR and CORPORATE PROFITS OVER EVERTHING, then FUCK YOU.

30. so we keep enabling those spineless cowards?
It may hurt us in the short-run, but in the long run, we will get the people we need in office, true progressives.

Individual Dems who are true progressives will continue to get support via direct donations and progressive PACs. The OP is talking about the DNC, led by people who don't give a rat's ass about the regular folks like me.

16. We don't have enough money to buy them back
They haven't gotten money from me since Nancy Pelosi said impeachment was off the table. I knew shortly after she said it that our government is corrupt. If we need to buy them back, they're corrupt. That makes our donations part of the problem.

32. I already refused to donate to the DNC, DSCC, and the DCCC this year
I can't donate enough money to compete with their corporate bosses, so what's the point?

I will also let the OFA know that I will not be part of the push for this piece of shit that they are trying to claim as health care reform. OFA is getting desperate for volunteers, apparently.
