So the White House sez Dr. Dean is irrelevant, huh? Really? Irrelevant?
Let's try some actual logic here:

Stinky the Clown, on a computer message board, said some shit about the health care debacle. Stinky the Clown laid a lot of the blame at President Obama's feet.

Nobody at the White House is pissed at Stinky the Clown. For a very simple reason. They never heard of Stinky the Clown, much less what Stinky the Clown said about the health care debacle. You see, Stinky the Clown is irrelevant.

Dr. Dean, at his harshest, was much kinder and much more politic than Stinky the Clown. But Dr. Dean earned comments at last night's White House Yule fête. Why was that? Surely because his voice is heard.

And calling Dr. Dean "irrelevant", on its very face, means Dr. Dean isn't.

1. Imagine Dr. Dean's scream accompanied by millions of progressive voices screaming
They'll hear that I guarantee.

4. I agree with Dr. Dean and Stinky the Clown so maybe Stinky...
is more relevant than he thinks. One thing is for sure...Dr. Dean was heard last night and what he said isn't going away no matter how much the White House tries to ignore it.

7. I guess if this Dr. Dean
doesn't vote for this health care reform, then they will think he is relevant.

how is he relevant in the passage of this if he doesn't vote for or against it?

17. He's relevant because he has a very large progressive following
and because he's a leader in the Party. Going against the WH has struck a nerve. He IS relevant because if he weren't, they wouldn't be upset by anything he says. They're trying to dismiss him, hoping he won't take the progressives with him.

I just thought people were saying he was relevant in getting something passed or not. Wasn't trying to step on toes.

19. No, no.
I didn't take it as stepping on toes. I'm just sad that the public is being squashed in favor of the health insurance industry/corporations.

I had held out some hope that we really were a two party system, and that the Dems actually gave a shit about the people, but I no longer think that.

Sorry if I gave you the wrong impression.:hi:

10. Actually I think it is Rahm Emanuel because
he is so jealous of Dean he could mess his pants. What little the snippy little panty waist has. If Obama would just chuck him out, he might get down with what the people in this country want. Rahm is another a**hole stuck up on corporations.

11. If Howard were irrelevant, the last place you'd hear it was the White House
The White House had every opportunity to shut Howard up. All they had to do was offer him the cabinet post he should
have been offered from day one. He would have been a loyal team member and bit his lip rather than diss his CIC's program.
The White House chose differently, OK, that's their right. Obama got elected, Howard didn't.

But if they think the country forgot that it was Howard whose brilliant stewardship of the DNC got them into the White
House in the first place, they are sadly mistaken.

If they are complaining about Howard, it's because there are too many people listening to him for their comfort.

Good.

If Howard were a lonely voice in the wilderness, I'd be worried for the Democratic Party. Maybe the White House is
smart enough to get the hint that if Howard's comments are getting a lot of traction among Democrats, then maybe
it's because what he is saying is hitting home with more than just a few people out there.

I said from day one that Howard Dean outside the administration would be far more uncomfortable to them than Howard
Dean inside the administration. It seems like that was about as difficult as predicting that summer would follow spring.

I hate it that guys who tell the truth are always more of an irritant than guys who don't.

I keep seeing posts about the White House commenting on Dean, but there's never a source mentioned. Is this cable TV stuff or what?

20. I heard it last night on MSNBC
It was one of the women who report from the white house. She was saying this was among the comments heard (I assume on background) after Dean supported killing the bill. There was no specific attribution.

21. I think by irrelevant, they mean that he will be FAR less respected by people who create policy
than he was before. That's what Dean's unmitigated intellectually dishonest (and factually dishonest) demagoguery will do to him.

24. Your first statement may be factually correct, especially for the PhRMA and insurance
companies that wrote the bill.

Your second statement was pure gold nonsense. Thank you for the laugh, it's the best medicine ya know. Probably want me to pay someone for that, dontcha?

I think I hear someone calling you. Oh! It's Rahm's whistle! He wants to give you your nightly tummy wub.
