Do the people who play the Good ole boy games realize that the jig is up?
Edited on Sat Apr-21-07 07:14 PM by The Backlash Cometh
I was wondering about this when a neighbor who we rarily talk to because he's ethically challenged, came up to us and said that he had a "good buddy" he could refer us to, to fix something that we were working on in the garage. He didn't come just for friendly chat, the appliance was making an annoying noise.

Anyways, I shuddered when he said, "good buddy," and I wonder if he realized how that has become a red flag for cronyism. The kind of cronyism that puts personal gain, ahead of process.

Anyone who has been following my posts knows that I'm living under extraordinary circumstances. It's bad. There is a hardcore cabal in my Association who think they have a manifest destiny with our Association common grounds. They may have already succeeded in taking them all, I'm not sure because I'm emotionally burned out from fighting them and have become a recluse since the death of my mother in 2004. Life is too short and one must pick battles they know they can win, or wait until the moment is right to strike. Besides, we already fought them off once before. Cost me three years of my life and over $5000 dollars of my own on public record requests, but it wasn't enough. At best, it was a short-lived win.

I cannot even begin to give you the details of how bad it really is. First off, you'll never believe it if I gave you all the facts. You'd think I was exaggerating. But, anyways, that's not the reason for this post. Just be aware that I've been watching these people and studying them for over ten years and, there is something really, really wrong here. It's like a gang of Average, Angry White men. I'm not kidding. I always know when it's Thursday night because you can hear their high priced motorcycles roaring down our narrow street. I know these people very well, and I don't think they're up to any good and getting rich quick is definitely high on their agenda. They're like a gang of jackals. Many of them have their own small businesses, but that doesn't seem to be enough. They act like predators, looking for the quick buck and they don't care who they victimize. At least, that's how it looks from my standpoint.

These people don't fall under the ordinary description of a criminal, but they make the community feel as unsafe, as if there was a serial cat burglar working the community. And they still play their good ole boy games, giving each other an act of loyalty and trust by referring their "good buddies" to each other. Most are Republican, but it isn't uncommon to find the odd Democrat in their group.

I just wonder, is it because of my extraordinary circumstances, or is the message finally getting out that there is something very, very wrong with this kind of business networking?

4. Oh were it that simple! Cronyism exists wherever there are leaders, appointed or annointed.
Cronyism, Favoritism shown to old friends without regard for their qualifications, as in political appointments to office.

3. The jigs not up yet though
It'll be up when we decide to have a general strike and shut everything down. Saying "pretty please" by protesting isn't going to do a darn thing.

6. Delusional or not, they are stealing us blind. Actually, they're stealing
from us out in the open as if they're entitled to it. What's it going to take to shake us all out of this collective delusion?
