Lieberman is Mikey from the Life cereal commercials
Edited on Wed Dec-16-09 12:14 PM by CoffeeCat
Remember the group of boys who didn't want to be the ones to eat the healthy cereal? They
talked "Mikey" into being the guinea pigs for the group--to take the chance, "Let's get Mikey!"

Mikey didn't care. He wolfed it all down in a few bites.

That's Lieberman. Lieberman is Mikey--the willing guinea pig without a care in the world.

Remember the cold facts: Lieberman is a neocon. He's worst kind of warmonger
and corporatist. He's one of the PNAC signatories, for Pete's sake.

He doesn't care one whit what the Democrats think. He'll gladly be the fall guy. He's
a convenient fall guy--because pissing off Democrats is inconsequential to his political
career or his future. Other Democrats could lose elections, doing what Lieberman is doing.
Lieberman can play the political villain without suffering any political consequences.

So, here's how the script goes:

Politician #1: "We need a staged ruse. We need a villain who can be blamed for botching
healthcare reform. We need the useless eaters to focus their energies on hating one
man, so they will forget that it's really all of us who are in bed with the corporations.
Bloody hell...we all met with the insurance lobbyists before this legislation began...and
we know what we promised them. They damn well bankrolled most of our re-election campaigns!
We need to convince stupid Joe-six pack that this is one man; not all of us."

Politician #2: "It ain't gonna be me! I've in the fight of my life in my state. Damn
liberals. If I vote against this bill, I'm sunk!"

Politician #1: "It's gotta be Lieberman. Everyone hates him anyway. What does he
care if the minions get a little more enraged at him. ((laughs)) What are they going
to do...complain on a blog?" (((entire room guffaws)))

Politician #3: "Ok, we've decided who's voting 'for' and we know who's voting 'against'.
We just have to tweak the numbers, to put the entire thing on Lieberman's lap."

Lieberman: "Whatever guys. I don't care what those pricks think. I'll do the talk-show
circuit. I'll play the fall guy. No worries. Are we all having cocktails at Blitzer's
after?"

Lieberman is chomping down his Life Cereal right now--making the sacrifice for the
greater good of the group. They're all in on this. It's all a sham.

The fact that a politician who is hated by Dems and Republicans---who has nothing to lose--is
the convenient roadblock, is not coincidence. It's political theater aimed toward the
dullard masses.

Enjoy the show.
