Right wing persecution story has holes in it. School denies suspending boy over drawing
This story has been making the rounds, I think I even saw a DUer listen to the boy's father without question.

"A Massachusetts school district is rebutting a father's claims that his son was suspended from school after drawing a stick figure of Jesus on a cross.

The Taunton School District said in a written statement Tuesday night that the second-grade student was never suspended over the drawing. It also said a drawing circulated to reporters by the boy's father, Chester Johnson, is not the same one that was discovered by the teacher.

The district says the boy's teacher never assigned students to draw something that reminded them of the holiday season, as Johnson told reporters Tuesday.

Johnson earlier said the boy made the drawing Dec. 2 after witnessing a holiday lights display. He said his son was suspended and ordered to undergo a psychological evaluation over concern about the drawing.

Johnson did not return a phone message from The Associated Press on Tuesday night."

This poor boy's manipulative father, Ashley Todd, Phil Parlock, Francisco Nava, and David Horowitz should create a "League of the Waahmbulance Chasers" or something.

1. It's not clear.
Was the kid suspended at all? If so, what for?

4. Oh don't worry...
I expect people to remember the little special-needs boy who got suspended by the evil liberal school district for making a Jesus-themed Christmas picture longer than they remember the terrible gold-digger who got two million dollars from McDonalds for spilling hot coffee in her lap.

5. There were certainly a lot of DU people wanting the teacher fired and the school sued yesterday.

6. Perhaps because if it was true
it would be just one more example of when schools institute ridiculous policies by idiot administrators. And I work in a school and have a great administrator, it is just that there are too many people out there who do stupid crap like arresting kindergarteners arrested for using his hand to make a fake gun.

7. Maybe, but after Va. Tech and each of the other school shootings, the board was full of people
demanding that the schools 'do something' to screen out potential shooters. So this school has set a policy of getting an outside evaluation of students that express what might be violent tendencies through their writings and drawings and people went nuts.

8. No doubt
and I think that given the ignoring of the obvious signs of the Va. Tech shooter, alot of people dropped the ball. The problem is now it is ridiculous and things like this need to be taken in a rational, responsible manner, not some reactionary and draconian responses.
