Have Lieberman, Nelson, et al. compromised on ANYTHING on HCR?

Serious question. We all know the many compromises progressives accepted to go from single-payer to nothing, but was there any give and take at all? Anything?

in other words, the entire democratic congress majority capitulated without a shot being fired. So why would there be a need for a compromise?
