On NPR this morning, on one of the call-in programs, I heard that the bill for universal health care |
|
in Canada was only 8 pages long, and then the provinces implemented it one by one. 8 pages.
We need to bust this back to simple...such as, :
1) remove health care coverage from being a part of employment (don't care what the unions think on this one) 2) make it single payer 3) make it non profit 4) subsidize the education of general practitioners and nurses and require service in rural communities (if you want a specialty area, then pay for it yourself or allow entry solely based on merit) 5) do not link it to the finance industry in any way 6) make certain that legislators cannot carry health care plans better than what is available to the public.

Then it has to be MARKETED. Once people are educated, they won't put up with the obstructionism.

3. The "critical path" for this, first goes through campaign finance reform. |
|
No other way. But first...this shit pile bill must die.

6. don't be silly. people might actually READ a bill that is only eight pages. |
|
they won't read one that is over 1000 pages. as they make it really long and full of words and phrases that no one will be able to understand, then they win. they can say whatever they want and people believe them because they don't want to have to read the damned things themselves and they don't want to admit that they either didn't read it or understand it. sure a simple bill would be easier... but then we might expect them to pass it. and they won't be able to make it scary or sound like socialism.

7. Now just how can you hide all the benefits for the big corportations... |
|
in just 8 pages?
All these important people have to be paid off.
The United States is of, for and by the corporations, the bankers and Wall Street. Average people are just serfs.
