It would have kept insurance companies honest by providing an affordable alternative Americans can trust. That's why, without a public option, this bill is almost a trillion dollar taxpayer giveaway to insurance companies."

Just this morning I received this email calling for removal of the individual mandate. As has been pointed out by others, this could be one of the few practical resolutions to this mess. (My apologies if this is posted in the wrong place. I'm new at this....)

2. I got the same message. Tried calling Harry Reid but got a switchboard,
and was unable to get through. They don't want to hear from us, apparently.

4. without the mandate, the insurance companies will stop being so quiet about it...
as it stands, they're getting everything they could have ever WET-DREAMED of.
