2. Because it will take the clerk a couple of days to read it. |
|
And Obama's got to have a bill before New Year's.

4. To stop the GOP's douchebaggery and likely so they can vote on the DoD bill for troop funding. |

6. My guess is because some Pub Senator (Conrad I think) is demanding |
|
that both the 2,000+ HC bill be read outloud on the Senate floor, but that also the Sanders amendment be read outloud. I think Bernie knew his amendment wouldn't pass & withdrew it so it wouldn't waste more time!

9. I'll check the earlier cspan link, but what people are saying that if the Sanders' |
|
amendment is not dropped then Coburn will ask that the 2000 page bill be read?
No other amendment, just the Samders amendment! That sounds too convenient.
from cspan ...
"Sen. Sanders Withdraws Single-Payer Amendment Today
Sen. Sanders (I-VT) has withdrawn his amendment in order to stop the reading of the full text. Senate Democratic leaders told reporters that Sen. Tom Coburn's (R-OK) request was an effort to "slow down debate" on health care."
