He's their excuse. They can make huge gifts to insurance or pharmaceutical lobbies or other lobbies in other contexts and blame the cave in on Lieberman.
Lieberman! Look what you made us do!! Oh, one of these days, Lieberman, one of these days! But he still has his committee assignments, he still has his chairmanship. Will he be stripped of his chair after the recess? Let's watch and see.
