6. Bernie's description of hinself is a Democratic Socialist.
He repeats that all the time. Listen to him on Thom Hartmann's show every Friday for the 1st hour!

<aybe I am a socialist. I agree with Bernie much more often than any of the other Senators, and he's VERY popular in his home State!

Not because of Sen. Sanders but because I think this country could use a little Socialism. He's a DEMOCRATIC Socialist.

15. Listen to his description of what he stands for, and you'll be a Socialist too.
It scared me until I heard the key points. It's not draconian, take my money from me and give it to the poor so that we can all have the same amount. You can get ahead even in a Socialist system.

They've just tried to scare us like they do with everything good.

I'm more a Socialist today than I was yesterday.

Bernie speaks for me.

19. he's not a democrat and this is Democratic Underground
btw, I am have supported and voted Dem in the past, but that's over for me.

It will probably get me banned, but if I were forced to choose between democrat and socialist, I would vote socialist.

I cant believe that so many are speaking out against Democrats and are speaking up in favor of a socialist (or at least an independent) here at the message board for Democrats.

25. that's why I'd support him for president in a skinny minute....
The LAST thing America needs is another milquetoast dem in office. A fire-breathing progressive dem, yeah, but not another invertebrate.

But quite aside from that question, I'd LOVE to have a socialist president.

here in France, first round is either Green, Communist, or Anarchist/Unionist In the USA I vote Green and Democrat but I do not get to vote for Sanders so I have not yet voted Socialist in the USA.

48. Here's another Democratic Socialist for the growing list
The more capitalism fails, the more socialists there are going to be.

Upton Sinclair wrote "The Jungle," and everybody thinks it's about food sanitation and safety. The USDA folks are always pointing to the book as one of the reasons that they exist. "The Jungle" was about socialism. Sinclair got it right then, Michael Moore is getting it right today.

28. Bernie is embrassing the Democrats today
he's sort of the crazy grandpa with the disheveled hair with ideas a little too far out there, with Republicans taking advantage and putting him out in the news today which he only amps up with his ill timed hold on Bernanke as he wins Time's Man of the Year for saving the weakened economy from a digital run on the banking system... though Bunning can share in the bizarre BB attacks from the right today.

The Republicans only need the Congressional Democrats to embarrass the Democrats.

I want the Wall Street prophets (profits) out of government. We know who they serve, and it isn't the people.
