Lieberman says he won’t rule out running as a Republican in 2012.
From Think Progress today:

Lieberman says he won’t rule out running as a Republican in 2012.

In 2006, Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) was defeated in his Democratic primary by insurgent challenger Ned Lamont, largely due to Lieberman’s unyielding support for the Iraq war. After forming the independent “Connecticut for Lieberman” Party, Lieberman ran as an independent and went on to defeat Lamont in the general election. In an interview with CNN yesterday, Lieberman said he’s “unsure” which party’s ticket he will run on in 2012, and even left the door open to running as a Republican:

Independent Sen. Joe Lieberman, a former Democrat who sits with Democratic caucus, said Tuesday that he would not rule out running for re-election in 2012 as a Republican. Lieberman angered his colleagues in the Democratic caucus this week by threatening to torpedo health care legislation if it contains a government-run public health insurance or an expansion of Medicare.

Lieberman said he wasn’t sure which party, if any, he would represent in his next election.

Lowell Weicker speaks out:

Former Sen. Lowell Weicker, who Lieberman defeated in the 1970s, was interviewed about his former rival. “He was basically elected as a Republican when he lost the Democratic primary,” Weicker said. “It was the Republicans who put him into office. Yes, I am an independent. I don’t think Sen. Lieberman is an independent.”

7. I don't think the Republicans will back him up.
He has already proved himself to be a backstabber and to march to the tune of his own drummer. Republicans don't like that. They want good soldiers who know how to take orders.

10. Connecticut voted for the President 61-38
If Lieberman planned on running in the next election he would be doing everything possible to try and make voters forget that he endorsed the other guy. If he runs as a Republican, he's toast.

The man is a total corporate whore.
He will do tricks for the highest bidder, to put it quite simply.
(No offense to hookers intended, at least they provide a valuable service.)

23. Well that's great
the snake should join the other snakes. Whatever the Republicans promised Joe he should remember they are not a loyal bunch. Joe shouldn't forget McCain screwed him. What happened, oh Sarah Palin. After all that campaigning and backstabbing he was pushed aside for lipstick and high heels. He should switch parties now. Alert the teabaggers they don't read much.
