"WASHINGTON - The Barack Obama administration is refusing to acknowledge an offer by the leadership of the Taliban in early December to give "legal guarantees" that it will not allow Afghanistan to be used for attacks on other countries."

1. The Taliban
could agree to convert to the Jewish faith as well and it wouldn't make 10c of differnce.

6. Because they're going to still be there after we leave,
and we should help the Afghan people end the Taliban's brutality with means other than an escalated, prolonged insurgency. Diplomacy is one of the few options we have to effect that.
