If Dave Vitter didn't resign why should Tiger Woods?
Edited on Wed Dec-16-09 05:55 PM by Hubert Flottz
It's okay for Vitter, Craig and all the republicans to whore around, but the media wants to nail Tiger to the cross. Go figure! I guess Gawd can only forgive and forget when a republican gets caught with his drawers down.

1. Tigers problem is that he's handling this like crap.
He shouldn't take time off from golf. He should get out there and admit what he did. Taking time off will is just make this all worse. This episode is taking away everything he loves (golf and girls). Fess up, and he can have most of it back.

2. Reportedly he did it to save his marriage but with all the women surfacing...
Edited on Wed Dec-16-09 05:57 PM by xultar
it was hard for Elin to stay.

But the guy really does have some sort of problem. It could be that he's just power trippin but to me it sounds like he could be a sex addict.

5. 14+ girls is a bit much for most married women.
I don't see any way where she can be expected to stay.

24. True, although if I were in her place I'd rather it be 14 than one
If it's 14 it means that the guy is just not interested in monogamy. If it's just one I would start to question whether he actually loves that one more than me.

10. Maybe he trains enough to run a marathon
Edited on Wed Dec-16-09 06:09 PM by tabatha
but merely walks the golf course in his own world of easy money.

Elin is smart to leave.

Tiger has to do some really strong soul-searching.
Maybe he should join the peace corps or something, and think of others a little.

3. That many have put Tiger Wood (and OJ Simpson) on a pedestal
projecting on them traits that they do not posses is our problem.

We should admire an athlete for his abilities to perform and not expect him to be a role model. If he is, then it is a nice bonus.

9. Oh, when he was arrested, someone - a professional woman - said
we like him so much!

And it was clearly beyond just being a good football player.

31. Why should we admire athletes at all?
Physical prowess at a game does not make you a good person.

I admire people for character or for deeds that contribute to society, not how far they can throw or hit a ball.

11. I don't give a damn who Tiger or any other athlete screws. Its not
our business. Unless one is raped. However, I do care if a politican who runs on family values (like republicans) and then get caught should resign. But if they don't run on family values then its none of our business. As long as its not rape and they do their job.

28. The tour is off till January. Tiger only played one tourney before March last year.
He hasn't resigned from anything. Lots of golfers take breaks. Phil did last year when his wife was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Woods cannot resign from anything. He is not elected to jack shit. Vitter, Clinton, Craig were elected public officials. different standards.

23. The Clenis Menace surfaces again...
I'd forgotten the trouser snake that made Eve eat the apple and caused everything bad that has beset mankind for 6,000 years. Yes we can blame it all on the Clenis! Forget blaming anything on the Bush...it was the Clenis all a-LONG.

20. Who asked him tor resign from anything? His actions right now are HIS choice
Edited on Wed Dec-16-09 06:42 PM by Blasphemer
He chose to take a break from Golf and he chose to stay in hiding as opposed to going about his business as he always has done. He is a golfer and he can still play golf. He has lost some sponsorship deals because his contracts had morals clauses and his clean-cut, good guy image was part of what made him an attractive spokesperson. He still has Nike and a few others sticking with him and he is perfectly free to resume his golf career whenever he chooses. He has lost his family and much of the public good will - that was his own doing - but he's still an athlete who no one is stopping from doing what he does best. He is no victim.

32. The Problem Isn't Tiger...It's Those Who Make Money Off Him...
If Tiger were a duffer no one would care about who he did...but he's become a "symbol"...a meal ticket to a lot of people and his implosion is costing them money and image. This is now about the millions in endorsements and other money that is made off the Tiger name and image and the piss-poor job Tiger has done in "damage control" that has only inflamed the situation. It's interesting to see how calibrated responses how...how much damage can be revealed as to who still wants to make money off of him and who dumps him.
