Does anyone else think maybe
Edited on Wed Dec-16-09 06:04 PM by EnlightenedOne
just maybe - Obama wants us to scream and be mad? Why do you think the R's paid for and rounded up people in buses to "pretend" they were upset at the Tea Party's?

As he stated before - much of what happened under Bush was the fault of the people who did not speak out and allowed it to happen. Go ahead, be mad, scream, it's how a democracy works. But I seen no benefit to the "hate" and the mindreaders who think they know what Obama really wants and what his final game plan is. We're supposed to be adults and I think we should act like we are.

So far my faith has not been shaken. I believe he's still the smartest guy in the room and he has right "intentions".

All I know - is despite the massive corruption and bullshit that has been built up for decades in Washington - we've still got the best President we could have hoped for. Its going to take an army to clean up the shit storm Bush/Cheney/Rice/Rumsfeld/Ashcroft etc., etc., left us with, so speak out, but is there anyway we can remain respectful of the man, the office and his duty? I know I could not be respectful to the last administration, but then, we were dealing with the Devil. I don't believe that's the case now.

There's no EMPATHY nor COMPASSION in his pragmatic stances.

Just WAR and Corporate Profits as far as this Administration Can See.

Only *SCRAPS* for "the little people" who happen to not be born to wealth of the upper 1%.

Yes, he *had* to surround himself with DLC corporate shills who think government's first job is servicing corporate America. He *had* to open the treasury to Wall Street crooks who also gave his campaign millions of dollars. He *had* to throw a monkey wrench into healthcare reform, enriching other industries who gave him tons of money. He HAD to do it! Because if he didn't... they'd shoot him!!

I mean-- it's not like he has his own personal bodyguards, or access to a television camera! What a horrible position he's in!

We had enough of that crap with Bush II.

Yes, I do believe Obama is a very smart man. But he's made some very serious errors in judgment if he thinks playing games is the best way to get things done.

This is serious business. This is literally life and death. It deserves respectful, thoughtful consideration and action.

no matter the issue, and the "game" became mandatory over the last 8 years of this devisive bullshit. I'm sick of it. We got the right guy in my opinion. We're not all going to get new clothes and a new home right off the bat.

23. Perhaps it's time to stop letting politics be a game.
The people elected to these jobs have the destiny of many people depending on their decisions. If those decisions are just a big game, one has to wonder how respectfully those decisions will be made.

I'm glad I've never had any politicians in my family. Most are worse than used car salesmen.

back when the weather was still nice enough to consider a HUGH march on washington dc by the teeming masses of uninsured and unemployed.

part of me still wants to think that it's what Obama is really hoping for, considering his roots as a community organizer- that americans will rise up and seize back their country and their power.

but- apparently things just aren't bad enough yet for those groups to warrant that kind of demonstration.

maybe some day...

I used to think that--but since poll after poll comes back 70-80% want the single payer/public option and Obama stays mum, not even a "well, boys, let's try to keep the public option". Not even that.
He's getting exactly the bill he agreed to in may with Big PHarma. It's more important to him to keep that promise than to keep the promise he made to we the people. Speaks for itself.

Edited on Wed Dec-16-09 06:49 PM by kenny blankenship
all along the way -as I indicated here, here and here. Instead we were told to shut up about our whacky national health care ideas and let the President work his magical Public Option plan. After WE put health care on the agenda we were told to zip it. Never mind that the Public Option plan could not possibly do what he promised for it and would have to be amended many times over. It was "a start" they said. It will "get us to the same place eventually," they said. "OK," we said, "if we have to accept it, we will." What a crock of shit. He didn't care about the Public Option idea anymore than he did Single Payer. Once he handed off to Congress he couldn't run away from HIS OWN PLAN fast enough. What he actually supports is a corporatist takeover of the public authority over public health! Forced purchase of FOR-PROFIT defective insurance, not health care. There's no putting a smiley face on this. This is WALMART, WITH GUNS, in charge of your health, and with your bank routing+acct.# on file.

I was too trusting, but I woke up. You - you are just from a laughing academy. I guess they hand out "Enlightenment" there with nitrous oxide and goofballs.

First of all what you classify as hate is people angry because they spent time and money to get Dems back in power and what we got in return is FUCKED.

Let me ask you something. Why do you think it is that Republicans have not had to COMPROMISE on anything? Why are all the changes to the HCR bill made by compromising liberal positions? Why is it that when the Dems were out of power they had to compromise on every single bill that went through and now that they are in power they have to do the same thing? Why is it I never heard a single fucking word about 60 votes when the Republicans were in power? They didn't have a sixty vote majority and it didn't fucking matter.

You want to talk about being "adult" well part of being a "grown-up" is realizing when you are getting screwed and standing up for yourself.
