Contact President Obama...I did
Although I have not posted as much here recently I have stayed active. I even recently posted a comment about "Why I Support Obama..." But after this latest example of his inability to bring about effective change I felt necessary to contact him. I hope the rest of you will do the same!!!!

President Obama,

What can I say? I donated over $500 to your campaign, money that was hard to come by for me as I worked to pay off student loans. I did so because I believed in you but you know what? My belief and hope was misplaced...I thought you were bringing about change but you aren't! You are just the same as the rest, a corporate owned politician who only says what we want to hear to get elected. But I am mad at myself for believing that you were different. I am ashamed of myself and of those who voted for you. Your actions make it even harder for me to continue being active in politics. You see I am President of the ******** County Democratic Club and while that may not mean a lot to you, it does to me. But right now Democrat's and YOU have left a bad taste in my mouth. If you fail to provide universal health care for all Americans or to expand Medicare then I will fail to provide you with my vote and support in 2010 and 2012. You won't have to worry about the Republicans coming out in full force because your base will be staying home. Feel free to check my voting record if you doubt I am a real Democrat, I am registered to vote in **************...feel free to email back with your same old pre typed response also but I will delete it. If you want my time and money in the future then you BETTER start acting like a REAL Democrat and not a DINO!!!

(name withheld from post)

2. I e-mailed him today as well...
for the first time I have e-mailed the White House to tell Obama how totally disappointed I am in him so far. It is shape up time or move out. No more sell outs and I don't care who the fuck it is.

How about Dr. Dean again?

6. The conventional wisdom is that a primary for a sitting president would kill the party
If the GOP winds up nominating anyone in their current stock, we could probably risk it.

10. Kennedy's challenge of Carter paved the way for RR
We don't want a repeat.

I expected Obama to be somewhat of a corporatist but this is ridiculous.

19. But that was Reagan.
He clearly had some kind of special black magic that he used, but much of America ate it up.

I'm just not seeing that kind of power in their current stable of potentials.

4. After appealing to him and reminding him over and over again that those
crowds of cheering people at the convention and at his inaugural are the people he will be throwing under the bus if he doesn't wise up, I have given up. I don't think anyone gives him any message except the ones his DLC handlers want him to have.

8. It is very easy to put an inexperienced politician in a bubble
I think Obama went into the bubble the minute he showed up and asked if he could be president.

9. Dear Hearts, You make it sound like he actually see your e-mails
at best he sees a summery that says you are for something or against it. or that x number of people support you. Get a clue President Obama does not read your e-mails.

11. He may not
but to simply say I am against something and then do nothing about it makes me the kind of people I speak out against! I would rather try and be ignored than to ignore trying!!!

18. Send him a snail mail letter too.
You might have a better chance of it getting through, since he was claiming to actually read a few of the letters he is sent.
