He's saying to take another path (reconciliation), not to give up on healthcare.

KO comparing it to the language spoken when the bank bailouts were being pushed through.

...as soon as I heard the prez had resorted to scare tactics. Not surprised that KO thought of it too.

Oh, that's right, they were planning to make US do it all along.

'public option' was a made-up bait/switch talking point

19. I just caught the clip of Obama saying that...
Edited on Wed Dec-16-09 09:14 PM by Kansas Wyatt
Does anyone know what he is basing this on and why it has to be done right now?

1) The reason I ask is because the government does not pay for everyone's health insurance and health care costs now in these For Profit Medical, Pharmaceutical, and Insurance Industries. If you are going to claim that it's the uninsured driving up the cost, then who's fucking fault is that in the present FREE MARKET FOR PROFIT SYSTEM? The fucking Medical, Pharmaceutical, and Insurance Industries are the ones who engineered the situation we are stuck with today... They are the fucking blame for it! Why can't they figure out how their way failed and fix it? Instead, they fight fixing it and want rewarded for it too.

2) They can do something about Medicare, without fucking the American People with this Shit Bill and calling it reform, because it is NOT Health Care or Insurance Reform! It's an Insurance Industry Giveaway!

3) Who has said that they cannot do something about it in 2010... Maybe if he would stop trying to be so cute and get fucking serious, instead of pandering to Corporate America and the Republicans, he could get something done. If it's that important right now Barack, why did you concede the best option right from the start and throw the American People to Vultures?

27. So the government is going to bankrupt if we don't give a trillion $ to health ins. companies?
Sorry...the last time I heard a scare tactic like that from a President, it involved a smoking gun in the form of a mushroom cloud.

This White House will succeed on HCR, despite people like Howard Dean who stand in the way of progress and with the Republicans in calling for the bill to be killed.

43. Forget the third place crap -- Hillary came in Third place in Iowa
Howard was "done in" by an edited tape which gave the country the fake "Dean Scream"...It was fake in that the bastards (other dems, I believe) REMOVED all the background noise in the room he was in so as to make him look "nuts".

Dean remains a trusted progressive voice..One with a lot of fight in him.
