I'd like to hear from people who've been dropped from their insurance |
|
because of pre-existing conditions. We're so caught up in the political message, I'm hoping I could hear from real people who have the biggest stake in HCR and see what they think about the latest developments.
We heard alot of these stories to help make the case for reform. Will this reform help those people or not?

1. Me to because my UHC only costs about 15 a week and I can't figure out why people pay so much. |
|
I am single but most of the other payroll taxes are more.

2. Try over $400/Month for a Family |

Our premium was jacked 150% starting January. We have a United Health Care plan through work.

3. People are not usually dropped due to preexisting conditions-they are usually refused right off for |
|
that. People do find they are dropped when they get sick. That's called recission. I have a friend who got health care with a preexisting condition for the, one time, today only, low, low price of...wait for it....
$2000 per month. Guess they'll call that a cadillac plan instead of a rape of the consumer, huh?

4. This reform will help those who can already afford the premiums but are not able to get the coverage |
|
due to preexisting conditions. In other words, pretty well off people will now be able to buy their health insurance. Not well off? Oh, well.

5. Been without going on 9 years now... |

Wife and 2 of my sons have pre-existing conditions. Have been "paying as I go" except when my wife had to go to the emergency room for chest pains. Luckily it was a false alarm but it cost us 10 grand to find that out. 10 grand for 4 hours in the emergency room.
And no this isn't any kind of "reform". This is open season on people like us. The insurance companies will be able to charge insane amounts of premiums with high deductibles and have a cap on what they pay out. And if I don't wan to abide by this insanity I will be fined thousands of dollars. This isn't a bill, it's legalizing robbery. And all I have to say is when I don't sign up for this legalization of organized crime, come and get me motherfuckers.
