Mystery Couple Pays It Forward at Philly Diner

Last Saturday morning, employees at the Aramingo Diner in Philadelphia witnessed a scene straight out of a holiday movie. A young couple ate breakfast, finished their meal and paid for their meal -- as well as the tab of a table of nearby diners, NBC reports.

There's no telling that diners knew each other, but the act of generosity set off a chain reaction for the next five hours. Dozens of patrons picked up the tabs of other diners, stunning and inspiring employees. They didn't skimp on tips for the waitresses either, despite each check averaging $12-$30. The impromptu round of giving brings new meaning to the phrase "paying it forward."

1. I heard this morning that one of my coworkers...
(from another coworker) who went to lunch yesterday paid for the lunches of a table of servicemen who were being redeployed. I love stories like this! Thanks for sharing!
