WE NEED Coordinated Public Action to Break Any Monopoly... |

Edit: Subject Line
It has always been that way.
Usually the government gets the hint that the public has had enough and are on the cusp of civil unrest before stepping in to 'regulate' the out of control monopoly.
If the government will not act, then historically the next logical step has been public action in the form of protests, boycotts, civil disobedience, etc.
People are so afraid of being cast outside the present system that doles out healthcare services that to this point they have refused to act in a coordinated way to stand up to the healthcare insurers.
However, when it becomes impossible for you and your neighbors to pay enough to the healthcare insurers to keep your healthcare services, that decision becomes remarkably easier.
Imagine what it will be like when thousands of people show up at Emergency Rooms for healthcare, and the lines grow progressively longer rather than shorter --and the healthcare providers will KNOW that these people will not pay their bills in full for the services they require. Meanwhile, people will start dying in waiting rooms, and the media will begin interviewing those who had healthcare insurance just a few months ago.
Public opinion will start to change, anger will rise, and people will start to demand real change from their public representatives. And outrage at the health insurance companies will be uncontainable.
What we are getting from the multi-billionaire health insurance companies now is the rough equivalent of the famous line from the elite during the French Revolution, 'let them eat cake.'
We have not seen the tip of the iceberg yet --and this is the scenario that the health insurance companies will face if there is no public mandate that everyone buy private health insurance.
The ONLY way to break the stranglehold the health insurance companies have on us is if we get angry enough to withhold our payments to them and demand Congress act to address the crisis.
And caught in the middle of all this will be the healthcare providers, doctors, hospitals, medical support staff, etc. They will join the masses if there is coordinated public action.
It's coming... and breaking the monopolies is the only way to avert it.
(P.S. Wallstreet Fat Cats are you paying attention?)
