I got an email from Obama asking me to make a call to support HCR. I called my Senator and told him
to put single pay or Medicare for all back in the bill. Then let LIEberman and the Blue Cross dogs kill the bill. Then take the best parts to reconciliation and pass it with 51 votes.

What did you tell your Senator?

4. Me too.
Letters are ignored or answered with canned responses that don't address what I wrote.

Phone calls are taken by staff who apparently have special training in being rude shytes, given the extra-special tone of total disdain they manage to bring to each word they utter.

I love 'representative' democracy . . .

and before someone comes back and accuses me of 'allowing' these tools to stay in office, let me remind you that we rarely have much to choose from here and as long as the big money continues to back them, their competition will stand no chance of making it past the primaries. We've tried. We tried last election cycle (not that those running against Reid were anything to cheer about).

2. I wrote the WH and said Buh-Bye! Guess it's time to write my senators again.

Edited to add:

Senator, mandated insurance and NO REGULATIONS and NO OPTIONS except lining for-profit coffers (or illness and death and FINES) is no way to deliver health care reform. This is a For-Profit Insurance Giveaway. WTF would you vote for this bill? Please don't. Please go to reconciliation the way George Bush would. If you vote for this bill, Senator, I have to ask--why do you hate America?
