The longer HCR takes, the more money everyone in politics gets |
|
That includes activist organizations like Moveon (I can't count how many e-mails I've gotten over the past 12 months) and individuals' campaigns (from contributors and lobbyists). The longer this takes, the more money everyone with a loud voice and power gets. That helps all incumbents more than challengers (no coincidence) because they get more airtime to speak their voice and because lobbyists have more reason to give them money than challengers. I feel like it's Groundhog Day when I get these Moveon e-mails. Or, more specifically, I feel like it's the first half of Ground Hog day because that is the half where Bill Murray was happy to have each day repeat itself.

once delaying is no longer profitable enough. I could be wrong but I can't help noticing how profitable the delay has turned out to be for everyone with power.
