Correct me if I am wrong... |

Ok. After this bill gets 60 votes in the Senate, it goes to conference to be merged with the House bill. Once that is accomplished, it simply needs to pass with a 51 vote majority, correct? Theoretically, the public option could be put back in, and there would be nothing that Nelson, Lieberman, Landrieu, or the other fuckers can do about it.
Or, even though this could happen, it won't, because we have no leadership and we just can't break the promises we made to Joementum! :sarcasm:

1. I'm pretty sure it's still subject to a cloture vote, which will need 60 votes |
|
If only it were that easy....

3. Yes, cloture again requiring 60 but without debate. |

5. You are correct under normal circumstances. However , in this |
|
particular instance they are seriously trying to do a "ping=pong" move. That is get the House to simply accept the Senate Bill as is. This is because it took so much just to get this thing through the Senate. The Senate will not accept the House Bill. Pretty much the Senate Bill seems to be it.
The Conference of Merging the two bills might be too darned hard in other words.
